Dr. Alan Drummond is a family/emergency physician in rural Perth, Ontario, Canada. He is certified in Emergency Medicine with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He was the medical director of the Emergency Department of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital (Perth-GWM site) from 1988 until 2012. He is a past President of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (1992-1993) and a Past Chair of the Section on Emergency Medicine of the Ontario Medical Association (1997-1999). He is an advocate for an improved standard of emergency care in Canada. He is the current co-chair of the Public Affairs Committee of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians. He is the recipient of the Canadian Medical Association’s Sir Charles Tupper Award for Political Action (2008). The views expressed in this blog are decidedly his own.
